Stay Warm this Fall with Dutch Oven Cooking!
With cooler weather and leaves changing colors, it’s time to look forward to some warm cozy meals this fall and winter! One of the most versatile cookware you can have in your kitchen for this season is a dutch oven. A dutch oven is a large heavy pot with tightly fitting lid that can be used both on the stove and in the oven. Some are even designed for camping with legs and handles to hang above the fire. There are many varieties of dutch ovens, but most are made from cast iron. Dutch ovens take a long time to heat up but once it’s heated up, it can retain heat for a long time, which is why dutch ovens are essential when it comes to slow cooking with low heat. Dutch ovens are great for simmering soups and stews, roasting, frying, baking, and casseroles.
